String Quartet vs. DJ vs. Both: Music for a Swiss Corporate Event
Corporate event planners in Switzerland usually default to a string quartet for something formal, or a DJ for more energy. Fewer consider combining both, which is often the strongest answer. Our business event music service covers each format in detail.
When a String Quartet Fits Best
A string quartet is right for the formal portions of an event: arrivals, a client dinner, the early hours of a gala, where conversation matters more than volume.
A solo or duo suits a more intimate setting, a quartet gives a gala greater presence, and a quartet or larger ensemble works for a broader stage or guest list.
When a DJ Fits Best
A DJ is the natural choice for the less structured part of the evening, once formal proceedings end and guests are looking for energy rather than atmosphere.
Why Combine Both
A layered format, where a quartet covers the formal segment and a DJ takes over afterwards, gets the benefit of both and is increasingly common for brand activations. The handover itself becomes a signal that the evening has changed gear.
What to Ask When Booking
Does the provider coordinate directly with your venue and AV team? Is sound equipment included? And for a combined format, have this ensemble and DJ worked together before?
